Wexford Festival Opera celebrates Culture Night

Singers of Wexford Festival Opera perform for free on Friday 23rd September 2011 in the Foyer of Wexford Opera House.

Make sure to come along to the luxurious walnut clad foyer of Wexford Opera House at 7pm this Friday Night (September 23) to get a sneak-peak of 3 Sopranos from this year’s fantastic line-up at the 60th Wexford Festival Opera! 30 minutes of stunning, playful and passionate performances – all for free.  Wexford ‘Culture Night’ is part of the National Culture Night Campaign, that sees venues all over the country opening up for a taste of cultural events for all ages.  Culture Night is an initiative co-ordinated by Temple Bar Cultural Trust and supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport in partnership with Wexford Borough Council and Wexford County Council.

Wexford Festival Opera, although in the midst of an intensive rehearsal schedule (often lasting from 9:30 in the morning til 9:30 in the evening) in the run-up to the opening of the festival on Friday, October 21, are delighted to be a part of this marvelous event. Artistic Director David Agler has made special arrangements for a few of the singers to be excused from their busy rehearsal schedule that evening to perform for the people of Wexford.
