  • The Wandering Scholar & Trial by Jury

    The Wandering Scholar, the one-act chamber opera which was Holst’s final opera, was written in 1929/30 and first performed in Liverpool shortly before his death.  Trial by Jury was commissioned as a short work to be played after an Offenbach comic opera in London in 1875.

  • Pre-Opera Talk

    Starts: 19:00

      O'Reilly Theatre

    Each evening there will be a talk of approximately 30 minutes' duration about the opera to be performed, giving an opportunity to explore the work more closely. Talks will be given by a range of specialists including academics, composers, directors and musicians.
