Trumpeter Dan Newell featuring members of the Orchestra of Wexford Festival Opera
Monday 27 October, 11am
Following the success of last year’s ‘Composers on Film’ Concert, another concert with virtuoso Trumpeter Dan Newell has been added to the Festival line-up. Dan Newell will perform a selection of popular film scores, such as JFK and Skyfall, with accompaniment from members of the Orchestra of Wexford Festival Opera.
As well as being Principal Trumpet with the Orchestra of Wexford Festival Opera, Dan Newell is a member of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and London Brass. He has played on the soundtracks to films including Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings and Shrek, and performed live with everyone from Sir Paul McCartney to Florence and the Machine, Muse, Elbow and Peter Gabriel. A passionate musician, Dan is the creator of Billy's Band – a series of children's books designed to entertain children and inspire them to pick up an instrument and have a go themselves.
The concert, on the October bank holiday Monday in the award-winning Wexford Opera House, is suitable for all ages and is the perfect way to share the gift of music.
Tickets €15 for adults and €5 for children
