Ecclesiastical Wexford Festival Opera Volunteer Award

This award, sponsored by Ecclesiastical Insurance, serves to celebrate the significant contribution of Wexford Festival Opera Volunteers.

Opening Date for Nominations: Friday, 1 September, 2017.
Closing date for Nominations: Friday, 29 September, 2017.
Awards Ceremony: National Opera House, Monday, 16 October at the Medea Public Dress Rehersal. 

The Award will be presented to a Volunteer who has played an integral part in the development of the volunteering programme at the Festival, which is one of the greatest examples of its kind in Ireland. The recipient will be presented the award by Chairman of Wexford Festival Opera, Ger Lawlor and will receive two VIP tickets to attend the following year’s Festival opening night as guest of the Chairman.


Nominees must have demonstrated an outstanding contribution to Wexford Festival Opera.  Their  contribution could have been demonstrated either by volunteering during the Festival itself or at anytime throughout the year to enhance, promote, fundraise and/or develop Wexford Festival Opera as an organisation  and as an event.

Nominations can be handed in to the box-office in writing on an application form or using the form below.  Nominations may be made by volunteers and non-volunteers. To nominate a volunteer, please enter the following details:

Wexford Festival Opera does not accept any liability for lost, delayed or incomplete entries. Winners will be selected by a panel consisting of Ecclesiastical, Wexford Festival Opera, Wexford Festival Opera Volunteer Committee member, Wexford Festival Opera Chairman and Artistic Director and 1 independent member. The decision of the panel is final. Competition prizes cannot be redeemed as cash. Upon nominating a volunteer, you are signing up to receive email updates from Wexford Festival Opera.
