Ethna Ryan was awarded the 2022 Ecclesiastical/ Wexford Festival Opera Volunteer of the Year Award on Monday evening during the first Public Dress Rehearsal for this year’s Wexford Festival Opera. Ethna was awarded after a public vote by fellow volunteers, board and staff of the Festival.

The chamber opera entitled Les Selenites will be given its premiere at the 2022 Festival this Autumn, but who or what are Les Selenites and what is this new commission all about?

Composer Conor Mitchell's intriguing new work explores the bizarre world of 20th-century French film pioneer and stage illusionist Georges Méliès. Méliès began his career as a stage illusionist and was renowned for his use of innovative magical special effects and visual tricks, a skill he brought to his work in the burgeoning early 20th-century film industry.

PwC announces extended new two-year sponsorship of Wexford Factory as 2022/2023 Factory Artists are unveiled. 

This month saw the announcement of the new participants of the Wexford Factory 2022/23 term. The brainchild of Wexford Festival Opera’s (WFO) Artistic Director, Rosetta Cucchi, the Wexford Factory is a professional academy for young Irish / Irish-based singers, which will commence prior to the beginning of rehearsals for this year’s Festival.

Wexford Festival Opera Singing for Health Series

An exciting series of Wexford Festival Opera Singing for Health Sessions is currently being hosted by Elizabeth Stuttard at the National Opera House.  The series looks at the holistic benefits of singing for those with Parkinson’s, their Friends and Carers. Starting on 7 June, the series will run for a total of 5 weeks.
