The Wexford Festival Opera has an industry-wide reputation of excellence, providing rewarding opportunities.

Our core people plan, prepare, work, and fundraise for our festival, managing a year-round series of events, activities and outreach projects.

Over just two months, the Festival Company expands to 350+ dedicated individuals both onstage and offstage, with an army of volunteers, who join together to make our internationally acclaimed festival of opera happen and enjoyed by so many.

Rosetta Cucchi

Artistic Director

Artistic Director of Wexford Festival Opera since 2020, Rosetta Cucchi is a renowned musician and stage director. From her early studies at the Rossini Conservatoire in Pesaro and Bologna, she has directed with opera companies throughout the world. A previous Artistic Director of Lugo Opera Festival and Arturo Toscanini Foundation (FAT) in Parma, she brought the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra on tour throughout Italy, China, Germany and Bulgaria. Her first association with WFO was as répétiteur (1995) and her WFO directorial debut was with Braunfels’ Prinzessin Brambilla (2004). She has also directed at WFO, Risurrezione by F.Alfano, Adina by Rossini and La cucina by Andrew Synnott and La Ciociara by Marco Tutino.

Suzanne Nance

Executive Director

Named a 2022 Woman of Influence and "the CEO building a radio powerhouse" by the Portland Business Journal (Portland, Oregon, USA), Suzanne Nance is an internationally recognized leader in the arts and media industries.

Prior to joining Wexford Festival Opera, Suzanne was the President and CEO of All Classical Radio. Under her leadership, All Classical Radio became one of the top classical music radio stations in the USA. Nance led a successful capital campaign to build a new media arts center in downtown Portland, Oregon (which opened in October 2024). In addition, the organization expanded its budget by 57% while dramatically increasing net revenue and reserve funds. During her time as CEO, the company also received the largest grant in its 40-year history, rebranded, published its first book (the Artist Anthology), and launched several groundbreaking initiatives including a 24-hr radio station for children: the International Children’s Arts Network.

Nance is the former presenter of the internationally syndicated Lyric Opera of Chicago radio broadcast series; co-creator of the Emmy Award-winning TV program MaineArts!; and the creator of All Classical Radio’s Sunday Brunch - a show designed to “explore cultures through delicious music.”
