Wexford Chorus auditions 2024

Audition for chorus

Wexford Festival Opera are pleased to announce auditions for vacant positions in the chorus of our 73rd Festival (18 October – 2 November 2024) on the following dates:

• Dublin - 4th March
  
• Manchester - 7th March
• London - 13th March

Centring around the theme of Theatre within Theatre, our three mainstage operas are

• Le maschere (1901) by Mascagni
• The Critic (1916) by Stanford
  
• Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali (1827) by Donizetti

Chorus sopranos and mezzos are involved in one mainstage show; tenors and basses in three.

There are also two chamber 'Pocket Operas', to be cast from the chorus: Alberto Caruso's Lady Gregory in America, on a libretto by Colm Tóibín, and William Niall Morris' Puccini: Man of Theatre.

Contracts will run from 11 September - 2 November 2024.

Singers are expected to remain in Ireland for the duration.
