To close the III° edition of the Wexford Factory in September, participants will present a special concert in front of an O’Reilly Theatre audience.
The III° edition of the Wexford Factory will once again offer professional and financial support to young singers in the early stages of their careers. In 2022, we also see the establishment of a new initiative offering a formative experience to young pianists/repetiteurs who are about to take the big step into a professional career.
The III° edition of the Wexford Factory will see a new group of artists start the two-year professional development academy, which enables these young artists to develop and learn. It aims to train young singers and repetiteurs through intensive masterclasses held by major internationally recognised artists, coaches and opera professionals, which will further confirm Wexford Festival Opera as a centre of cultural and educational importance in the opera world. Wexford Festival Opera has a long history of being a springboard for many young singers at the beginning of their careers, helping them move onto the international stage. The Wexford Factory, which is open to young Irish or Irish-based singers, builds on this tradition.
The Wexford Factory III° edition will once again be an international collaboration with TUD (Technological University Dublin), RIAM (Royal Irish Academy of Music), and the Rossini Opera Festival “Alberto Zedda” Academy, Pesaro.
