Wexford Festival Opera Bids Farewell to Randall Shannon

The Board of Wexford Festival Trust has announced Randall Shannon’s term as Executive Director of Wexford Festival Opera will end when his contract finishes on 14th February 2025. Paul Cleary, Chair of the Board, today on behalf of the Board, the team, and the entire Wexford Festival Opera family, extended his gratitude to Randall for his commitment, dedication and work over the past four years and wished him all the very best for his future projects.

During his tenure, Randall has played an important role in shaping the Festival's vision and ensuring its continued success. Randall has enhanced the relationship with the Arts Council, the Department of Culture and the office of Public Works, as well as supporting new strategic partnerships and developing the WFO Community Engagement and Participation Programme.

The Board of Wexford Festival Trust also today announced that Loughlin Deegan will be joining Wexford Festival Opera in the role of Interim Executive Director from mid-February until December 2025, working alongside Artistic Director Rosetta Cucchi to deliver Wexford Festival Opera 2025. Loughlin Deegan is a freelance arts consultant whose career includes Director of The Lir for 12 years and 5 years as Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Dublin Theatre Festival.

The search to appoint a full time Executive Director of Wexford Festival Opera is underway.
