In honour of the pioneering ambition of Wexford’s founders, we mark this 75th anniversary with the launch of the Wexford Ambition Fund.

The Ambition Fund is a long-term reserve fund created to strengthen Wexford Festival Opera for the future, giving this remarkable organisation the financial resilience and freedom to remain ambitious for generations to come.

It is also an invitation to all of us to care for something extraordinary. For 75 years, the Festival has changed lives, launched careers, brought people together from across Ireland and around the world, and contributed enormously to the cultural and economic life of Wexford. From its earliest days, Wexford’s vision helped shape the development of opera in Ireland.

The same bold sense of possibility that inspired Dr Tom Walsh and Wexford’s founders in 1951 drives this Fund today. And everyone can be part of it.
