Everything you need to know about our 75th Anniversary Concert - Croí na Féile
To mark our landmark 75th anniversary year, we are hosting a very special evening that promises to be the highlight of the season. Croí na Féile is a spectacular fundraising concert taking place on Saturday 17 October. Here is your ultimate guide to the evening.
Why is it called Croí na Féile?
Croí na Féile (pronounced kree nah fay-leh) translates from Irish to 'The Heart of the Festival'. This is a spectacular concert that honours our 75-year history while helping to sustain Wexford Festival Opera’s future.
What makes this concert so special and unmissable?
This is more than just a concert; it's a once-in-a-lifetime Festival event and a rare opportunity to hear four of the biggest stars in opera coming together for one unforgettable night. We expect this to be one of those 'were you there?' nights that people will be talking about for years to come. Don’t miss it!
When and where is it on?
This 'one-night only' event takes place during the opening weekend of the Festival.
Date: 7:30 pm | Saturday 17 October
Venue: National Opera House, Wexford
Duration: 2 hours plus interval
You may also like to consider extending your stay to attend other Festival events, including the three main stage operas alongside several new commissions and world premieres. Explore the full festival programme.
What music will we hear?
Expect a glorious evening of showstopping music. The orchestra and soloists will perform your absolute favourite arias including masterpieces by Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Massenet, Rossini and many more. The programme will include iconic arias from Tosca, Carmen, Don Carlo, Rigoletto and La Traviata, and so much more.
Who is performing on the night?
We are thrilled to welcome back four of the world's leading opera stars who have captivated Wexford audiences in seasons past:
- Ermonela Jaho (Soprano)
- Joseph Calleja (Tenor)
- Daniela Barcellona (Mezzo-Soprano)
- Giorgi Manoshvili (Bass)
Daniele Callegari will conduct the Wexford Festival Opera Orchestra.
How much do tickets cost?
Ticket prices span a wide range from €75 to €750. The higher-tier tickets include a donation. A full ticket breakdown can be found on the Croí na Féile event page.
What do I get if I buy a higher-tier Patron ticket?
Patron tickets are priced at €575 and €750 and include a built-in charitable donation for those who want to invest in the Festival's future.
- Both tiers guarantee premium seating in the Founders Circle (the balcony area of the O’Reilly Theatre), offering exceptional views of the stage. The €750 ticket secures front-row positioning, while the €575 ticket places you in prime side-seats.
- The ultimate highlight of the patron ticket is the rare opportunity to step onto the historic O'Reilly Theatre stage following the curtain call. There, you will join the artists for a private champagne toast. You will also take home a limited-edition commemorative print as a souvenir of our landmark 75th anniversary.
Is there a dress code?
There is no mandatory dress code for Croí na Féile, but as this is our 75th Anniversary Concert, it is the perfect excuse to dress up! You may choose to mark the occasion in elegant evening wear or smart-casual attire. If you have been waiting for the perfect moment to wear something glamorous, this milestone celebration is absolutely it.
Above all, we want you to feel comfortable and ready to celebrate 75 years of magic with us. We recommend you dress to ‘feel fabulous.’
