Yu Shao is a young lyric tenor whose repertoire focuses on three areas: French opera, Mozart, and Rossini.
Following success at the Queen Elisabeth Competition (fourth prize) and the Toulouse Competition (third prize, male category), he continued his studies at the Académie de l’Opéra de Paris.
He has since performed leading roles including Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore) at Opéra de Bordeaux, Des Grieux (Manon) at Theater Aachen, Roméo (Roméo et Juliette) at La Seine Musicale, and Count Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia) in Rennes.
