________________________________________________________________

The adaptation of Carmen that Carrère (writer), Brook (director) and Constant (composer) made in the 80s of the short century is simply fantastic.

More than 300 performances, triple cast, three TV movies for Antenne 2. Incredible numbers when compared to the tenures and fate of the works produced today. Brook, Constant and Carrère decided to remove all folklore and “grandeur” from Bizet’s Carmen in search of the deep and absolute core of the work. Thus, you will get the ‘true’ relationship between Carmen and Don Josè in the intimacy of Jerome Hynes Theatre.
