Wings to Fly: Creative Arts Programme for Transition Year Students

Wings to Fly

Now in its third year, Artistic Director Rosetta Cucchi has named the programme ‘Wings to Fly’.

Its name reflects our mission to provide young people with an insight into a professional workspace and the many departments needed to support opera production, empowering them to soar in their artistic endeavours. Participants from Wexford Secondary Schools were introduced to the core creative skills needed to develop an opera performance through a series of practical, hands-on workshops that actively engaged them in the learning process, mentoring sessions and talks from this year’s Festival company.

The project culminated on the main stage with the students being given unique access to direct, conduct and present creative concepts to the singers and musicians of The Critic.
