Catherine Hooper is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and the universities of Cambridge and St Andrews. She won multiple prizes at the 2025 Joan Sutherland & Richard Bonynge Bel Canto Awards, and has participated in several young artist programmes in the UK, including Opera Prelude, SongEasel, and OperaUpClose. Highlights of her 2026–27 season include making her German debut as the Queen of the Night in Neustrelitz and a recital tour of China, where she performs regularly in venues such as the Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall.
In 2026, she debuted as Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) as a guest with the International Opera Academy in Antwerp and as Micaëla (Carmen) with Devon Opera. Other recent roles include Musetta (La bohème, Devon Opera), Senta (The Flying Dutchman, OperaUpClose), and Vixen Sharp-Ears (The Cunning Little Vixen, Byre Opera).
Alongside her operatic work, Catherine performs widely as a recitalist and concert soloist, collaborating frequently with SongEasel, Opera Prelude, and Notable Concerts, among others.
