Yuchen Pan

Yuchen Pan was born in 1994 in Tongchuan, Shaanxi Province. As a high school exchange student from Xi’an Tieyi High School, he studied at Towson High School in Maryland, USA, embarking on his professional musical journey. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Temple University in Philadelphia in 2019 and a Master of Music degree at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music in 2022. In August 2026, Yuchen Pan just made his debut as Don José in Bizet’s opera Carmen at the Zheng Xiaoying Opera Center in Xiamen under the baton of the first women conductor in China Xiaoying Zheng.

Furthermore, he has been accepted into the Wexford Factory Young Artists Programme at Wexford Festival Opera. He will make his debut in the role of Osaka in Mascagni’s opera Iris and will also serve as the cover for the renowned Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja. In December 2024, he appeared at the Deutsche Oper Berlin Tischlerei in the “Tribute to Bellini” concert, where he performed the role of Pollione in Norma with conductor Elda Laro. In August 2024, under the baton of the distinguished conductor George Pehlivanian, Pan delivered a run of consecutive performances of La Bohème as Rodolfo at the Ljubljana Festival. In September of the same year, he stepped in on short notice to replace tenor Gianluca Terranova in the same role at the Teatro di Todi.

From 2023 to 2024, he was selected to join the Mascadarte Opera Studio Young Artist Programme in Florence. During his residency, he sang the title role of Werther in the French opera Werther and made his debut as Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro della Pergola. In 2022, Pan Yuchen made his role debuts as Rodolfo in La Bohème and the Duke in Rigoletto at the Mediterranean Opera Festival.
