Ellen Jansson has emerged as one of Ireland’s most versatile pianists and collaborators, appearing as soloist with orchestras including the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine and New York Concerti Sinfonietta, while also maintaining an active career as a chamber musician and recitalist throughout Europe. Ellen has performed with the Irish Chamber Orchestra, ConTempo String Quartet, and Kirkos Ensemble, and has been répétiteur for the International Music Academy Orpheus, Oper Burg Gars, and ProChoro Wien.
She has performed at the New Ross Piano Festival, Westport Chamber Music Festival, Killaloe Chamber Music Festival, Ortús Chamber Music Festival, and the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival, and was winner of the Chetham’s Yamaha Piano Competition, Flax Trust Bursary at Clandeboye Festival, and COS Emerging Artist Award. She gave the first complete Irish performance of Fanny Mendelssohn’s Das Jahr at Finding a Voice Festival in 2021. In 2024, she was selected for a month-long residency at the Banff Centre, where she performed with José Franch-Ballester and Beverley Johnston.
Ellen is currently working alongside tenor Mark Padmore on Gare St Lazare Ireland’s production of The Last Tape, which will premiere at Kilkenny Arts Festival in August 2026. Following studies with Mary Beattie at CSM, and Barbara Moser at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, Ellen is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Music Performance at RIAM, under the guidance of Hugh Tinney. Since 2020, she is répétiteur to the MA in String Performance at the University of Limerick
